I don’t give a hoot… vintage owl necklace

I noticed recently that vintage owls whether they are in brooches or necklaces seem to be in vogue on eBay. It’s not that I don’t like owls, but the necklaces in particular seem almost gaudy to me. I mean some of them are down right huge. The example in the pictures is only four inches tall, but I have seen some auction listings with owls as large as six inches!

That’s enormous!

I don’t have a particular fondness for petite jewelry but I don’t want my jewelry getting in the way of me walking and doing things either.
