Remember vintage Avon perfumes, sure you do? Avon perfumes were always really smelly and came in really neat decorative bottles or inside jewelry like pendant and rings. Here’s an Avon perfume locket ring and it still has some of the stinky goodness inside… I assume that people clean out the perfume and use the rings to store photographs or mementos. I could be wrong though and there might be someone who collects the perfume!
Everyone needs a realvintagemoodring… that would be a ring with a bit a substance and that is NOT adjustable. If more people wore mood rings- you could tell when passive aggressive types are really pissed off at you and avoid them!
This piece is actually broken- it’s an unsigned Goldette reverse carved brooch with stick pin charms around it. There should actually be several more charms on top. I keep thinking I will do something crafty with this piece so I hang on to it. I believe I mentioned the Goldette charms to you in a previous post- the snake charm with her little egg in her nest is featured on this brooch- that’s my favorite Goldette charm.
By the way- when sunset comes tonight- watch our for little spooks and goblins, be sure to feed them lots of candy and Happy Halloween!
These cute earrings are wooden shoes featuring windmills. Ok so they aren’t exactly Dutch wooden shoes, they are porcelain and the design work that’s delftware. Delftware is blue and white pottery made in and around Delft, Netherlands.
While cleaning up some old folder and files this week- I found some more pictures of jewelry. Go figure! I thought this beautiful green rhinestone brooch with matching earrings deserves it’s own pictorial post. Note the open backed setting of the brooch- opening backed setting tend to really show of a really good piece.
I have actually sold quite a few of these little lockets… They must have been very popular in the 1950′s because of the television show – This Is Your Life. If you are not familiar with the show- I have included a clip from a This Is Your Life show that featured Laurel & Hardy- enjoy!
