Vintage Delftware “Wooden” Dutch Shoe Earrings

These cute earrings are wooden shoes featuring windmills. Ok so they aren’t exactly Dutch wooden shoes, they are porcelain and the design work that’s delftware. Delftware is blue and white pottery made in and around Delft, Netherlands.

    very very cute earrings!

  4. In fact it’s only delftware when it’s signed in the right way.

There’s a lot of fake for tourists.

    But they’re cute.

That’s good to know I am not up to snuff on my pottery or glassware. I decided long ago that I wanted to keep it to a minimum selling glass and pottery because of the shipping and packing… I have butter fingers. I have only sold a few delftware jewelry pieces so far the last on was from the 19th century based on the clasp and hardware… I wonder if they made a lot of fakes then?

  6. I still have a pair of these my mother bought for me, probably around 1966 or so, when I first had my ears pierced. I loved them then,m and I still think they’re cute, although I haven’t worn them in probably 40 years. Mine are still on the original loops & wires.

  7. That’s sweet that you still have them. I have kept a lot of jewelry that I received as gifts from my husband and mother although I don’t wear much jewelry myself.
