Vintage Bond Boyd Sterling Blue Rhinestone Pin Brooch

Blue Stone Pin Brooch

I love this piece. Not only do I love the art deco look, but this piece is set in sterling. Ever since I was a teenager I preferred the look of sterling silver to Karat gold. I have only recently begun to appreciate gold, but mainly due to the high market price.

Back to brooch- however, this piece is signed Bond Boyd which is a Canadian company specializing in sterling and 14 karat gold jewelry for tourism since 1940.

  1. I just bought this broach at a used bookstore in STratford Ontario for $18, knowing nothing about it except it was sterling. Any idea what year it was produced and market value?

  2. Hi Mary- I am not very familiar with Bond Boyd pieces and I generally don’t give out values. I think the $18 you paid was probably retail and therefore a little higher then you could expect to pay on say eBay. But on the other hand the price you paid is probably lower then book value and what you could expect to pay on a dealers website. As for more information- I would ask someone familiar with Canadian jewelry manufacturers or someone who appraises sterling silver jewelry,
